How to install n8n on Kubernetes with use of Helm
This guide will walk you through the process of installing n8n using Helm, the Kubernetes package manager, ensuring a smooth and efficient setup.
Before we begin, ensure you have the following tools installed and configured:
First, add the repository containing the n8n helm chart:
helm repo add community-charts https://community-charts.github.io/helm-charts
helm repo update
helm search repo n8n
Isolating applications within Kubernetes namespaces is a good practice. To deploy n8n in its own namespace:
kubectl create namespace n8n
Now, you'll install n8n. The helm chart name is "n8n":
helm install n8n community-charts/n8n --namespace n8n --create-namespace
After installation, verify that your n8n deployment is running smoothly:
kubectl get pods --namespace n8n
kubectl get all --namespace n8n
This process may require customizing your deployment through a customized values.yaml file, which specifies configuration options.
helm install n8n community-charts/n8n --values values.yaml --namespace n8n
Accessing n8n will depend on your chosen service configuration (LoadBalancer, NodePort, or Ingress). For Ingress access, ensure an Ingress controller is operational in your cluster.
Follow the instructions in the helm install notes, the output of Step 3.
